Coach Rob Hughes

Coach Rob Hughes has been coaching the Wayland swim team since the early '90s. Being a former holder of more than a few rocords at our school it's a great honor to have an actual Wayland Alumni teaching the up-and-coming stars of this generation, especially since he does a hell of job at it. He has coached the majority of the current and soon to be record holders on our record board that he makes and maintains himself, and goes all the way to 5th place in individuals and 3rd place in relays. He's so accurate we still have records on there from the 1970's!
Today, however, Rob Hughes is the head coach of our Varsity Swim team. Everyone enjoys being on his team because you can have fun and still work incredibly hard, especially on shark days! His coaching on and off the pool continues to put out more and more exceptional swimmers with each year. However his teachings do not just relate to the pool, he also has many phrases and philosophies that will help you in life... or if you just want to confuse people.
